European (EU) Bra Size Guide & EN 13402 Standard
European bra sizing follows the metric EN 13402 standard across Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Scandinavia, and Central Europe. Learn how metric band rounding and 2 cm cup steps function.
How European (EU) Bra Sizing Works
Unlike US and UK sizing which use imperial inches, European sizing is calculated entirely in centimeters:
1. EU Metric Band Sizes (EN 13402)
EU band sizes are underbust measurements rounded to the nearest multiple of 5 cm (e.g. 73 cm underbust → 75 EU band). Standard band steps are 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90.
2. EU Cup Progressions (2 cm Increments)
EU cups increase in 2 cm step increments rather than 1-inch (2.54 cm) steps: A (12–14 cm), B (14–16 cm), C (16–18 cm), D (18–20 cm), E (20–22 cm), F (22–24 cm), G (24–26 cm).
3. French (FR / BE / ES) +15 cm Offset
French, Belgian, and Spanish brands use the exact same cup letters as EU sizing but add 15 cm to the band number (e.g., 75 EU = 90 FR, 80 EU = 95 FR).
EU Band Conversion Table
Compare EU centimeter band numbers directly against US/UK inch bands and French (FR) band labels:
| EU Band (cm) | FR / BE / ES (cm) | US / UK (inches) | AU / NZ Dress Size |
|---|---|---|---|
| 65 cm | 80 cm | 30 in | Size 8 |
| 70 cm | 85 cm | 32 in | Size 10 |
| 75 cm | 90 cm | 34 in | Size 12 |
| 80 cm | 95 cm | 36 in | Size 14 |
| 85 cm | 100 cm | 38 in | Size 16 |
| 90 cm | 105 cm | 40 in | Size 18 |

How to Measure for European (EU) Bras
- Measure underbust in centimeters. Round to nearest multiple of 5 for your EU band size.
- Measure full bust in centimeters.
- Calculate difference: Difference (Δ) = Bust (cm) - Underbust (cm). Match difference to EU cup letter (A: 12-14 cm, B: 14-16 cm, C: 16-18 cm, D: 18-20 cm, E: 20-22 cm).
